Welcome to Slimora ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Slimora mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information – name and email address when you register.
- Health & fitness data – height, weight, age, gender, activity level, calorie intake, food logs, water intake, and workout records that you voluntarily enter.
- Device information – device type and operating system version for crash diagnostics.
- Location (optional) – approximate location, only if you use the "find nearby stores" feature and grant permission.
- Camera (optional) – used to scan food barcodes or capture food photos. Photos are not stored on our servers, but a photo you choose to scan is sent to our AI providers (see section 5) so the food can be identified.
- Advertising identifier – your device's advertising ID is used by Google AdMob to serve ads in the app.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and personalise your calorie and fitness tracking experience.
- Calculate your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) and nutritional targets.
- Send optional reminders and notifications you configure.
- Improve app performance and fix bugs.
- Answer your questions in the in-app AI assistant. To do this, the details you are asking about — such as your current and target weight, BMI, daily calorie target, today's calories and macros, water intake and the names of foods you logged — are sent to our AI provider along with your question.
- Show ads, which fund the free version of the app.
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We do share the limited data described in section 5 with the service providers listed there, including Google AdMob for advertising.
3. Data Storage
Your account and synced data are stored securely on Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication), which is hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. Your personal health data is primarily stored locally on your device using SQLite and is only synced to the cloud when you are signed in.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen, which permanently removes your data from our servers within 30 days.
5. Third-Party Services
Slimora uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase – authentication and cloud storage.
- Expo – push notifications.
- Groq and OpenRouter – AI food-photo recognition and the AI assistant. These receive the food photos you scan, and the health details listed in section 2 when you use the assistant.
- Google AdMob – advertising, which uses your advertising identifier.
- Nutritionix – nutrition database used for food searches.
- Open Food Facts – barcode product lookups.
We send these providers only what is needed for the feature you are using. We do not send them your name, email address or location.
6. Children's Privacy
Slimora is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS, Firebase Security Rules, and encrypted storage to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data via the Profile screen.
- Delete your account and all associated data.
- Withdraw consent for optional permissions (camera, location) via your device settings at any time.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
